A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole - Blog Tour with my review

synopsis
One kiss lasts a moment.
But a thousand kisses can last a lifetime.

One boy.
One girl.
A bond that is forged in an instant and cherished for a decade.
A bond that neither time nor distance can break.
A bond that will last forever.
Or so they believe.
When seventeen-year-old Rune Kristiansen returns from his native Norway to the sleepy town of Blossom Grove, Georgia, where he befriended Poppy Litchfield as a child, he has just one thing on his mind. Why did the girl who was one half of his soul, who promised to wait faithfully for his return, cut him off without a word of explanation?
Rune’s heart was broken two years ago when Poppy fell silent. When he discovers the truth, he finds that the greatest heartache is yet to come.

Standalone Young Adult Tearjerker Romance.
For ages 14 and up.

My review: 5 heartbreaking *
I'm telling you now, be prepared with a box of tissues. This book will make you bawl your eyes out. Not just a sniffle or a few tears. I'm talking river of tears and snot.

This is one of my favorite books this year. It put a smile on my face in quite a few places and had tears (see above) in others. I did not want to put this book down. It sucked me in on the first page and did not let go until the very end. I did have to quit reading quite a few times, take a couple of deep breaths and wait for the tears to subside before I could read again though.

This book is such an emotional journey watching Poppy and Rune fall in love. Even from such an early age they knew they were meant to be together forever. They were inseparable and did everything together.

"Kiss eight hundred and nineteen was the kiss that changed it all. The kiss that proved that a long-haired brooding boy from Norway and a quirky girl from the Deep South could find a love to rival the greats."

This book shows you what love should be about. That it can make you more then you were before, that it can make you a different person. It'll show you the light through the darkness, the rainbow after the rain.

I don't think I'll ever look at cherry blossoms again without thinking of this book. This book will definitely be a re-read for me. I don't do a lot of re-reads because let's be honest, there's so many new books out there to read.
