Time doesn’t always heal a broken heart. Sometimes the only thing it does is fill the darkness with more shadows, more pain.

Dylan Thomas has spent the past decade living in the shadows, mourning the loss of his wife, his best friend, his very reason for breathing. He long ago accepted that he would never feel again, that he was damned to a world without light, without hope. That was the day the bottle won, and he gave himself over to the darkness.

Until the one night that rocked his brittle, crumbling world on its axis. She told him what they shared was simply a distraction, a way to forget for a little while. It would’ve been, except the tiny glimpse of how it feels to live again, to feel again, gives him the strength he needs to pull himself up by his boot straps. But sobriety comes one day at a time, and three years later may be three years too late.
I knew this book was going to wring me out emotionally and I couldn't have been more right. This book has so many emotions through it from like, lust, love, depression, anger, alcoholism, guilt, acceptance, etc. I mean, you name it, it's in there.

Dylan and Sarah's story is hauntingly beautiful. When life knocks you down, you have to pull yourself up by the boot straps, never give up. Even if you struggle, know that you can do it. You have to believe in yourself and have a support system that will help you when needed.

These two have been through so much and it's a struggle to be who they were meant to be. It was a hard road to get there but they take it day by day. What started as friends many years ago grows into so much more. They've both known love and loss, can they get past that to look for a future or will it always hold them hostage? Can they be who each other needs to be more than just a distraction?

The heat between these two is CRAZY HOT and I now want to read the whole series again. Can't wait for the spin off from this series!
The author has such a way with story telling that you're part of the story. You're transported out of your world and put into theirs. I have never been disappointed with a book from this author and I can't thank her enough for her stories.
